In a message issued on Friday, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the government and people of the Republic of Iraq for holding a magnificent funeral procession for the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah in their country.
The president said, “I sincerely thank my dear brothers, His Excellency Mr. Nizar Amedi and His Excellency Ali al-Zaidi, the President and Prime Minister of the friendly and brotherly Republic of Iraq, the officials of that country, and especially the great and civilized nation of Iraq, its religious authorities and scholars, who hosted the body of Iran’s martyred leader”.
He reiterated, “What took place during the funeral procession was a testament to your Islamic dignity and Arab nobility. The martyred leader always emphasized the spirit of brotherhood between the nations and governments of Iran and Iraq.”
“The people of Iran will not forget the support and the scenes and moments of this magnificent funeral procession. I hope that, relying on the deep bonds of brotherhood, culture, and religion, the relations between the two countries will expand and deepen further,” Pezeshkian added.
