Iran’s Health Minister, Mohammad Reza Zafarqandi, announced that since the beginning of the imposed war against Iran, 5,332 people have been injured and received medical treatment.

He stated that in the past 24 hours, Iran experienced the most intense attacks and violations by the occupying regime of Israel. These assaults led to the martyrdom of 107 people and left 1,342 others injured.

“This brutal and imposed war has so far caused the martyrdom of 606 individuals, of whom 95 percent lost their lives under the debris, and only 5 percent were those who initially survived but later passed away in hospitals,” the minister explained.

Zafarqandi expressed gratitude for the selfless efforts of healthcare workers on the front lines, stating:

“We were forced to evacuate Motahari Hospital today due to last night’s savage attacks near Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital, transferring all patients to other facilities.”

He added that over the past three weeks, hospitals at risk had to be evacuated. The effective management of hospital directors and healthcare centers, along with the experience gained from the 8-year imposed war with Iraq and the COVID-19 pandemic, helped the health system overcome these challenges.

As an example, Zafarqandi referred to a recent incident:

“Following the explosion of a water pipe in Qods Square, Tehran, medical teams from Tajrish Hospital arrived at the scene and managed to transfer 50 injured individuals to hospitals within one hour.”

Zafarqandi also noted that although healthcare workers had unmet financial claims from the government prior to the invasion, they responded with a strong sense of duty and delivered significant services during the crisis—adding yet another honor to their record.
