The 38th International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) has announced the list of films competing in various sections, featuring two Iranian filmmakers.

Avash News: A total of 12 documentaries are competing for the main prize, including “Fox and Pink Moon” by Mehrdad Oskouei and “All My Sisters” by Masoud Bakhshi.

The 76-minute documentary “Fox and Pink Moon”, a co-production of Iran, France, the UK, the US, and Denmark, took seven years to complete. The film portrays an Afghan girl who has spent five years trying to reach Europe while recording everything that happens to her on her cellphone, simultaneously expressing her fears and concerns through her art.

The documentary “All My Sisters” is a joint production of Iran, Austria, Germany, and France. It tells the story of two sisters, Mahya and Zahra, who grow up carefree—swinging in playgrounds and playing with dolls—until social restrictions gradually impose themselves on them through their family.

The documentaries “32” by Alireza Atabaki and “Past Continues Future” by Morteza Ahmadvand and Firouzeh Khosravani are also featured in the Luminous and Envision sections, respectively.

The 38th IDFA will be held in the Netherlands from November 13 to 23. Additionally, “Citizens (Hamshahri)” by Abbas Kiarostami will be screened at the event.
