The Iranian team received 11 medals including two gold, one silver, and eight bronze in the event, which was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on May 18-20.
Mehdi Ahmadi Amouei (gold, traditional -60 kg), Sahel Rigi (gold, traditional -69 kg), Moslem Fathollahi (silver, traditional -96 kg), Amin Ghaedifar (bronze, modern -60 kg), Hasti Saadat Mir (bronze, modern -49 kg), Farshid Bagheri (bronze, traditional -65 kg), Amir Hossein Habibi (bronze, modern -65 kg), Mohammad Romani (bronze, traditional -71 kg), Hossein Bahmani (bronze, modern -85 kg), Sajad Azizi (bronze, traditional -120 kg), and Faezeh Eslamipour (bronze, traditional -60 kg) were the medalists of the Iranian team in these competitions.
Amouei and Afshin Hadi-Chegini, head of Iran Martial Arts Associations Federation, paid tribute to the martyrs of Minab and Lamerd. Another gold medalist Sahel Rigi gave a military salute and paid respect to the brave women and grieving mothers of the martyred student.
Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school was bombed on February 28, the first day of the US-Israeli war of aggression on Iran. About 170 people, including 120 students, were killed in the airstrike. The enemy also attacked a sports complex in Lamerd, southern Iran, killing at least 21 teenage boys and girls.
