Director General of Culture and Islamic Guidance Department in Hormozgan, Farkhondeh Jalali, said on Tuesday that the festival’s concluding ceremony will be held on Thursday afternoon, coinciding with Persian Gulf National Day.
She stated that the closing event will include the unveiling of several cultural and artistic calls, as well as ceremonies honoring martyred commander of the IRGC Navy, Alireza Tangsiri, and distinguished cultural figures linked with the Persian Gulf.
April 30 marks the anniversary of the expulsion of Portuguese forces from Hormuz Island and the Persian Gulf in 1621, ending 117 years of colonial rule in the region. The day has been designated as Persian Gulf National Day.
Each year, various events are held nationwide, particularly in southern coastal provinces, with the Persian Gulf Festival considered among the most significant.
Performances by well-known Iranian musicians, the establishment of an artistic pavilion, and live creation of 168 visual artworks in painting and calligraphy are also scheduled.
Jalali added that prior to the main ceremony, participants will visit the martyrs’ cemetery in Minab and meet with families connected to the Shajareh Tayyebeh School of Minab.
The United States and Israel waged a war of aggression against Iran on February 28, killing 168 school children in an attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School of Minab.
The US-Israeli bombing of the Minab school sparked global condemnations, with religious leaders across the world taking clear stance on the warmongering against Iran.
