Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh, and Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Joint Economic Shahin Mustafayev, have discussed ways to expand economic and transit cooperation.

During a phone call on Saturday, the two ministers reviewed recent bilateral developments and explored avenues for expanding cooperation in transit, energy and border infrastructure.

Sadegh urged faster formation of joint committees to implement recent technical agreements and noted that repairs to transport routes damaged by regional tensions are underway.

For his part, Mustafayev welcomed progress on railway projects, saying completion of Iran’s section will significantly boost regional transit capacity.

Both sides emphasized strengthening strategic and economic cooperation as a foundation for regional stability.
