Reacting to claims that two Iranian diplomats have been deported from New York, Esmaeil Baghaei said he believed they were seeking to fabricate achievements. What they have claimed is a lie. “One of our diplomats was supposed to stay in New York to perform his duties but left the city due to pressure.”

Avash: Regarding Netanyahu’s trip to the UAE, Baghaei said that Iran’s message to the neighboring country is that Iran is committed to the principle of good neighborliness and wants its neighbors to observe this principle.

Baghaei said that they had clearly and explicitly voiced their grievances, particularly to countries that allowed their territory to be used for the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime.

“We had good dialogue with the Persian Gulf littoral states on the sidelines of the General Assembly meeting in New York,” he said, adding that they thanked UAE officials for freeing Iranian nationals and hoped that the rest of the Iranian prisoners would be freed as soon as possible.
Regarding the composition of the six-member committee, Baghaei said that the committee is part of the Supreme National Security Council and has been tasked with studying issues related to negotiations.
“Iran’s foreign minister is part of the committee,” he said.

There is no consensus over dispatching Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon
Iran’s president and his Lebanese counterpart had a good meeting, Baghaei said.
“Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon had previously received the agrément from Lebanese officials. Iran’s diplomatic relations and the issue of the embassy were discussed at this session. We presented our positions. What is certain is that even in Lebanon, there is no consensus over this issue. But what is important for us is that we try to resolve the likely misunderstanding through dialogue with Lebanese officials,” he said.

Pezeshkian travels to Turkmenistan
Baghaei said that President Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to Avaza in Turkmenistan very soon to take part in two events: the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be held at the level of heads of state, and a meeting of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“Mr. President will attend the event as a special guest,” Baghaei said, adding that other meetings will be held in the following weeks.
Responding to a question about the US president’s claim that he did not know whom he had to reach an agreement with inside Iran, Baghaei said that the claim had no basis.
“The Americans know very well how decisions are made in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The problem is their rambling remarks. They undermine [neutralize] each other’s roles,” he said.
Regarding Iran’s withdrawal from the NPT, Baghaei said that this discussion is very serious in political and elite circles.

Baghaei said that the UK’s ambassador was summoned on Tuesday and Iran’s objections were conveyed.
“The UK’s positions regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran are a preemptive move because they know that Iran has demanded that the UK accept international responsibility for its complicity in and involvement in military aggression against Iran,” the official said, adding that he thought nobody doubted that the UK had directly participated in this illegal war against Iran by making its military bases available to the aggressors.”
“The NATO secretary general also acknowledged that military bases in Europe were used during the US-Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran,” he said, adding that the UK government must be held accountable in this regard.

“The UK government cannot evade its responsibilities through fabricated claims and lies against Iran,” he said.
Baghaei said that Iran’s positions were conveyed to mediators during a brief stop in Doha on the way back home.
“The US’s offers are broadly in line with its previous positions and are clearly focused on nuclear issues,” he said.
He said that Iran had clearly announced that its focus was on the Strait of Hormuz.
“Securing the Strait of Hormuz or restoring security to this waterway requires specific steps to be taken by the Americans,” he said, adding that these steps include stopping disruptions to commercial navigation and halting sanctions and other interventionist measures.
Sanctions imposed by the US over this period of time must be removed. The concerns of the Americans, which had been conveyed to us through Qatari mediators, were addressed at the same meeting.
“On some details, we will conduct the necessary investigations, and the complementary proposals will be conveyed to the other party,” he said.
